Giving 10 years warranty is fake one as when have problem, like in my case, leak after 1+year only, I have to pay like $300 for labour/transport and got replacement item which is refurbished unit, according to their own technician.

A 10-year partial warranty on a heating element might sound great, but the heating element rarely fails. It’s wires and thermostats that need repair sooner. If these aren’t covered in the partial warranty, you need to pay more.
Usually, companies who do this are not interested in servicing you. They are excited to find out your 1 year warranty is over. It means they can now throw in some charges for extra sales.

3. AOS Local Warranty vs. Overseas Warranty
The worst thing you can do for yourself is buy a water heater online from overseas.
You need a local warranty. When you buy your heater locally, you're also buying access to a valuable local support network.
It is also impossible to claim overseas warranty. It may be cheaper to purchase your water heater via parallel import, but if something happens to your heater:
• the overseas team may not respond fast
• the local team may not order special spare parts for you
• the local team may not be trained to repair the model you have installed
• the level of service you get is different

We have been enjoying hot water through the AOS system. When our hot water supply was suddenly disrupted, we called AOS which responded rapidly and came onsite to check. The service team found a broken wire which had probably been gnawed by some rodent.

4. AOS Labour Cost vs. Other Brands’ Labour Cost
It annoys me to no end to see other water heater companies taking advantage of expired warranties.
Innocent homeowners should not be over-charged for back-end sales.
If normal labour cost is $100+.
You should not be paying $250.
That is 200% more.
I would like to comment that the 5-year warranty for ****** water heaters is fake. I bought one and used it for only 3 years, and it started leaking. They claimed the issue is not covered under the warranty, so now I have to purchase a new one. I'm very upset and no longer trust ******.

Consider: if your warranty is 5 years, should you be paying additional labour fees under 5 years?
The answer is no.
When faced with a dead end like this, many end up changing their whole heater to another brand. You can avoid dealing with dishonesty like that, but it is very expensive.
With AOS, as long as you are under warranty, you can rest assured that you will not be charged for any hidden fees.

Bought an ***** water heater with 5 years warranty in 2020. Leaked after 2 years in 2022, paid a fee for a brand new replacement. Started leaking again quite badly in 2022, even when we turned off the water supply.
Called the ****** hotline and basically was told that it's our own problem to solve ('just purchase new one'), even though twice in a row the supposedly brand new water heaters with 5 years warranty leaked (HOT water) after 2 years - less than halfway into their supposed lifespan of 5 years.

Both times when I have called up AOS I was in contact with customer service immediately. Extremely responsive, which is a different experience from my existing water heater company where communication is slow and only via WhatsApp.
The reason I am changing is that my existing water heater barely lasted 3 years before malfunctioning. I had to pay labour on replacements done under warranty, one replacement only last 6 mths so not a reliable brand and the replacements are not covered by a warranty unlike AOS.
If the heater really last 10 years (or more) this will be my go to brand.
